Cross Country - FGC Invitational | Friday, October 13, 2023 | Alligator Lake Park

LAKE CITY, Fla. – On Friday, October 13, 2023, Florida Gateway College Cross Country will host the FGC Invitational at Alligator Lake Park in Lake City.

Men's and Women's Cross Country teams from across the region will gather Friday morning for FGC's first home meet since 2021 and the first since the reintroduction of Men's Cross Country this season. FGC President Dr. Lawrence Barrett will be in attendance to signal the start of each race and cheer on the student-athletes of FGC Cross Country.

"We wanted something small and low-key as a tune up before the postseason," said April Morse, FGC women's head coach. "Plus, it gives local fans an opportunity to see us race at home."

The 5K home meet will serve as the Timberwolves' final event of the regular season, leading both teams into the NJCAA Region 8 Championships to be held in Tallahassee on October 24 and the NJCAA DII National Championships on November 11.

FGC Women's Cross Country is currently ranked No. 14 in the nation in the Week 2 NJCAA Division II Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll, moving up two spots from the previous poll.
