FGC Softball Triumphs in Weekend Series Against Pasco-Hernando State College

Game 1: FGC 13 - 6 PHSC

In a dominating performance on Saturday, FGC's Softball team secured a resounding victory against Pasco-Hernando State College. The Timberwolves showcased their offense early on, with Peyton Hatcher, Brooklyn Kennedy, and Georgia Turner all delivering doubles. The team's collective effort led to a convincing 13-6 win, with FGC never trailing in the game.

Pitcher Karis Smith played a crucial role in the win, delivering a solid seven innings on the mound. Smith's precision and control were evident as she struck out four batters and walked only one, ensuring FGC maintained their lead throughout the matchup.

Game 2: FGC 14 - 3 PHSC (6 innings)

The momentum continued in the second game as FGC's softball squad capitalized on a massive fourth inning, racking up four runs. They sealed the deal in the sixth with an additional five runs, bringing the game to an early close. Amanda Whalen's pitching prowess was on full display, as she pitched six innings, striking out three batters and issuing three walks in the victory.

Standout player Peyton Hatcher, who earned the title of FGC Athlete of the Week, played a pivotal role in this weekend's conference series. Hatcher's remarkable performance included a batting average of .546, six RBIs, three doubles, and two walks. Her consistent contributions were instrumental in securing the team's success against Pasco-Hernando State College.

The Timberwolves' weekend triumph marks a return to winning ways. The Wolves are in action again at home next Saturday as they take on the FSCJ Blue Wave.  First pitch is at 1:00 pm.  With key players stepping up when it matters most, FGC's softball team looks poised for continued success in the remainder of the season.
