Florida Gateway College Secures Victory with Strong Performance Against South Georgia State College

Lake City, Fla. - Florida Gateway College showcased their skill on the court and improved their season record to 8-5 Saturday afternoon, securing a hard-fought 76-70 victory over South Georgia State College in the Howard Center.

The Wolves shot an impressive 53% from the field and were nearly flawless from the free-throw line, making 27 out of 30 attempts.

A standout performance came from Axel Holmquist, who delivered a double-double by contributing 15 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Antewan Webber emerged as a key offensive force for the Timberwolves, leading the team with 19 points, while Amayoa'ah Phillips chipped in 15.

On the opposing side, Kyric Davis of South Georgia State lead all scorers with 23 points.

The Timberwolves are gearing up for two challenging road games to wrap up the first half of the season. On December 13, they face Enterprise State Community College, followed by a matchup against Johnson University on December 16. These contests will serve as a crucial test for FGC before they enter conference play in January.

With their current momentum and a strong foundation laid in the first half of the season, FGC looks poised for success as they navigate the conference schedule ahead.
