Bio

Ed Morse has been an assistant coach for FGC’s Women’s Cross Country Team since 2018 and has been coaching male and female runners for more than 15 years. Morse has been an assistant coach for FGC’s Women’s Cross Country Team since 2018 and has been coaching male and female runners for more than 15 years.

Morse’s experience includes serving as assistant coach for Columbia County Eye of the Tiger AAU Running Team from 2007 to 2013(state XC champs 2011, 2012, runner up 2013), coaching running for Nike’s US Sports Camps from 2009 to 2018 and again in 2022, and serving as Assistant Coach for Distance for both boys’ and girls’ cross country and track teams at Columbia High School from 2013 to 2017.

Morse has deep roots in the local community and at the college. He is the third of seven children, all of whom attended FGC (then Lake City Community College) with two of his brothers having played basketball for the college. Morse studied Microbiology and Genetics at the University of North Florida, earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree from the University of Florida College of Dentistry, and has provided dental services for the US Navy Reserves and Florida Department of Corrections, among others.
