FGC Softball to Play First Home Opener in 16 Years

LAKE CITY, Fla. – On Saturday, January 27, the legacy of Florida Gateway College Women's Softball will continue as the Timberwolves take to their home field for the first FGC Softball home opener in 16 years.

Beginning at 1 p.m., the Wolves will face Thomas University JV in a double-header, with the second game starting at 3 p.m. Beginning at noon, FGC invites the community to a pre-game FGC Tailgate & BBQ, featuring food, games, and a celebration of FGC Softball's return. As always, admission to FGC Athletics games is free.

FGC Softball returns after a long hiatus that began when intercollegiate athletics were discontinued at then-Lake City Community College after the 2007-2008 season. FGC Athletics returned in 2017 and has continued to grow ever since. The reintroduction of Women's Softball this season brings FGC Athletics to seven teams across six sports.
