Timberwolves Set to Face St. Johns River in First Softball Conference Match-up

Florida Gateway College Softball is set to embark on its inaugural Sun-Lakes Conference game as they play host to St. Johns River State College at 2:00 p.m. today on Jean Williams Field. Both teams in the highly anticipated match-up boast commendable records – the Timberwolves standing at 11-5 and the SRJ State Vikings not far behind at 11-9.

The Wolves enter the game riding a wave of momentum, securing back-to-back wins in their previous outings, both culminating in convincing 5-inning victories. A key factor in their success has been the outstanding individual performances, with Brooklyn Kennedy leading the charge with an impressive .521 batting average, while Makenzie Peters brings a formidable .567 on-base percentage to the field.

However, the Vikings are not to be underestimated, boasting their own cadre of potent hitters. Kendall Catherwood emerges as a formidable force with a .474 batting average, a .566 on-base percentage, and an imposing .678 slugging percentage. Battle-tested and prepared for the challenge, the Vikings pose a significant test for the Wolves.

The significance of home-field advantage cannot be overstated, and as FGC gears up for this pivotal encounter, local support is crucial. Come out the support your Timberwolves!
