Bio

Coach Jimmy Williams comes to FGC after recently retiring from the Columbia County School District, where he spent 19 years coaching at Columbia High School. He began his career at CHS as the assistant Baseball coach for two years and then spent six years leading the JV Softball Team, winning the Doc 4 Life JV tournament. He took over as the Head Varsity Softball Coach in 2005, and over the next nine years, he won 191 games, the Kissimmee Klassic Blue division, the Doc 4 life Varsity softball tournament, and the 2013 6A State Championship. For his efforts he was named the FACA 6A Coach of the Year, Gainesville Sun Coach of the Year, Florida Times Union Coach of the Year and the Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year. Under his leadership, CHS reached the regional finals four times, and won four district championships. He has also coached 8 years of travel ball, winning several High School Division State tournaments and qualified for the World Series in Panama City Beach four times.
