Timberwolves Dominate at Jefferson State Spring Invitational

The Timberwolves of FGC Women's Golf have made a powerful statement this spring, capping off a stellar season with a commanding victory at the Jefferson State Spring Invitational. Battling through relentless winds and stiff competition, the squad showed resilience and skill to claim first place by seven shots.

After the opening round, the Wolves found themselves trailing by 12 strokes, but they refused to back down. Star golfer Karlee Gainey was just one shot off the individual lead, setting the stage for a dramatic final round. With wind gusts reaching a brutal 45 mph on day two, the Timberwolves dug deep, overcoming the elements to surge ahead and secure the tournament title.

Gainey was the standout performer, finishing as the low medalist with a brilliant final round—just two over par—the best of the entire tournament. Her clutch performance led the way, but she wasn't alone. Isabella Smith delivered with an 82 on the final day, securing a top-10 finish in 9th place. Marie Tesiero (10th), Karis Pollard (16th), and Piper DiFrancesco (19th) all placed in the top 20, underscoring the team's depth and dominance.

"I'm incredibly proud of these ladies," said head coach Tammy Carter. "They gave their absolute best out there both days, and never gave up, even when the conditions got tough."

With this victory, the Timberwolves have cemented themselves as a force to be reckoned with this season—proving that no matter the conditions, they have what it takes to come out on top.
